Cagney’s Pub throws down an awesome night of comedy

The first time I met Kelly Tabbut was one evening at the Stadium in Quincy when she was out looking  for new folks to perform forCagney’s Comedy Show in Quincy on 8/19/2011!  I was excited.  This was the first time I’d ever even seen a booker!  I was all like OMG and stuff!  Gotta unleash the hounds!  It was time to go to work and kill it!  Uh…  Yeah… I didn’t get up for a long time and when I did get up, I basically crashed and burned miserably!  MISERABLY!  Ahh well, c’est la vie! Kelly did ask me to come to the show, however, so I was very excited to show up and support the comics!

I arrive a little early, not too much, bought a beer and the ticket.  I said hi to the folks I knew and tried a couple of jokes out on the friends Bob Connolly had brought with him to the show.  One of the jokes went well, the other two bombed almost so bad I thought the girls would never speak to me again and the guys were gunna kick my ass.  Oh well, what can I say, I’m not known for the most woman friendly jokes out there, thats fo sho!  I said hey to Debi Bracon and Steve the Fireman, and spoke a little bit with Suzy and her husband.  I swear this guy is the friendliest dude in Boston.  Always gets up and finds girls seats and just super cool.  Too bad I forgot his name….  AGAIN!

The show consisted of the following performers!

HEYyyyYYYYyYYYY!!!

The show was headlined by none other then the mighty Chris Tabb!

Oops, I forgot the hosts name, but does that really matter?

Mr. Goodnight seems to have a probLUMM with being SHUN’d when he was a kid or something.  He heavily accents everything ending in lem or tion.  Such a character though, he’s too damn funny, wonder how his rent is….  He had some odd bit with sharks going on though using some poster-boards with this old school shark pics drawn on them.  Still, I loved his stuff from start to finish.

Suzy Berlin loves nerds!  Well done girl, I loved your stuff!  Having performed only a few months, Suzy does extremely well, but I’m sure her super cool hubby helps out a lot!

Corey Manning, this guy is a pro!  He is super funny and got the crowd really worked up!  LOL put your hands together if your white and his Nintendo cheat codes were my favorite two of his bits…

Chris Manning! +200lbs

Craig Martin was so single dad performing comedy!  He has that character nailed to a T!  Did a great bit ’bout his son in college not able to find a fricking weed connect!!

Debi Braconi did a great job tonight, really putting herself out there and connecting with the crowd. An outstanding job start to finish! But her boyfriend in her carry-on is my favorite bit she does…

Kelly Tabbut, who put the show together, was super funny.  She is such a chill, cool, chick who really knows how to put herself on anyone’s level and rock the audience with her humor. Haha and her stuff about pushing her kid to hang with the goth crowd so she could save on Abercrombie and Fitch bills was hilarious.  She did a bit bout smoking pot in the bathroom which reminded me about a night I had at Mottley’s a few weeks back lol.

Chris Tabb!  I saw this dude perform at Joe Wong’s roast back in December I guess it was.  I didn’t like him as much back then.  Perhaps he was off due to the crowd and the roast type material.  Tonight, he fucking killed it!  He did a call back to Mr. Goodnight’s Shark posters lol, then ragged on the bar hard, child support, the T, passerby’s outside he’d even get into the act through the big windows he stood in front of.  Chris really did kill the show.  He worked the crowd beautifully from start to finish and had body shaking laughing going on!  The guy does comedy, its what he does, he’s good at it, and I hope he goes far!

Anyways thats when I had to jet!  I had a blast, want to thank Kelly and Cagney’s Pub on Washington Street in Quincy for putting together an excellent night of comedy, drinks, food, and FUN!

      reckon ;) . Nah, great job though very well run show and enjoyed myself thoroughly! Where do you usually do stand up at?

        It’s good,

        Right now I am just doing the local circuit,(local being the South Shore), you can usually catch me at The Varsity Club,or at The Stadium in Quincy,although I am going to start spreading my self around a bit more soon..
