Beefin up ‘cuz bein a beefcake ain’t ez!
Since I last had the wherewithal to trow some words your way about my comedic attempts, I’ve been continuing upon a tight regimin of beefin up and working out my comedy musculature. I was eyeing my next Comedy Studio date at that time and once again I’m eyeing my next Studio show again! So in preparation of hitting the stage under the watchful eye of the ever discerning Cambridge crowd, I continued where I left off last week by hitting up the Tavern at the End of the World on Wednesday 5/9 and Grandma’s Basement on Thursday 5/10! Both sets were solid in my blase opinion so I felt well prepared for Sunday’s show at the Comedy Studio! Guess you can see for yourself if ya want.

So theres my 2nd Comedy Studio set. The crowd was light that night and the air was even a bit still, but I felt the material was as good as I’d ever put it out there before, hope ya like it! Afterwards I had this grand plan to build a completely different set for my performance on the 30th but I’ve not quite made it completely new. Probably ’bout 70% new stuff though, so I’m excited about next Wednesday’s set at the studio!
As for the various open mic’s since then. Nothing too unusual, I did Sally O’s 5/14, Grandma’s on 5/17, Somerville City Club and the Kama Lounge 5/20, and finally this week has been pathetic with only one night so far at the Tavern on 5/23. Last night I went out to see Will Noonan and friends at Nicks then rolled over to the Wilbur to watch Gary Gulman’s Comedy Central Taping’s late show. Talk about bringing it strong, Gary’s set was an hour and a half of pure pounding the shit out of everyone present with brilliantly hilarious comedy. Such an amazing performance, what a high benchmark for any comedian coming up to strive for. Like way in the clouds somewhere! Anyways, guess that brings the comedy performances up to 129, 11 months in tomorrow!
Oh yeah! I want to give a special shout out to Erik Levi and Mike Abramson, a couple Boston comedy guys testing the NYC waters! Good luck fellas! More than anything, enjoy yourselves and annihilate those mofo’s! Gunna miss seeing y’all around!
Take er sleazy folks!
