Write write write write write write….
So, I’ve been writing a lot lately. Not getting out as much. The multitude of excuses for this I will ignore and not delve into, kinda just leave it at that. When reading the title of this post, I prefer you say the words like the video below… I do have a couple new bits I’ve been working on, mainly in writing but also worked them out on stage a few times. But I, really feel the need to get back out there and stand up more often. I don’t want people to start forgetting the legend of Sunshine before it even hatches or becomes fully formed. But c’mon, how could anyone ever forget the truly great moments of Sunshine we’ve all shared already! 
Here is one of my favorite Sunshine moments.
Taking a stand up class/workshop at the BCAE (Boston Center for Adult Education) which had some perks. At the end of the workshops, everyone would assemble in a rather large room (looked like a dance studio) and spill our material for a given time. 90 Seconds! At this moment in my vast history of performing comedy, I was of the opinion; wtf, in 90 seconds, a great portion of my time will be spent just saying, “TOMMY SUNSHINE!” So I said to myself, “Self, why bother with trying to fill the 90 seconds with this brand new workshopped set, just spend the whole time doing variations of the Sunshine mantra and at the end pop in a titty joke! And thats what I what I did. I was Tommy Sunshining it up and down the stage area, leaning back and dropping down, really hamming it up. The crowd of like 120 or so students were going crazy basking in the Sunshine! I got so wild at one point, I actually pulled the microphone cord out of the speaker box, said, “Ooops, not like I needed that anyways…” and kept on going! The MC was Tony V who said to me as we shook hands, “Well I must say, really unique…” LOL then he asked the crowd, if anyone could remember what my name was…
I’m telling ya, its all in the branding people!
